Title: Aussie typo error
Post by: eye30 on May 09, 2019, 11:46:10
Australia's A$50 note misspells responsibility

Australia's latest A$50 note comes with a big blunder hidden in the small print - a somewhat embarrassing typo.

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) spelled "responsibility" as "responsibilty" on millions of the new yellow notes.

You'd think so, but no.  Way too many notes already in circulation (with more to come before the RBA will rectify) for the serious numismatists. Will probably have  little more than curiousity value...but hey, they're still worth $50.

After checking with my trusty iPhone magnifier I've found 3 of the new notes in my wallet, all misprinted and with 46 million in circulation they're only worth $50 :(

That's inflation for you... they should be worth $150

 if I had all 46 million of them = $2,300,000,000 I'd shout all club members to a Dazz day out :whistler: :D

How do people spot this stuff!.. I seldom use cash these days and if I do I'm usually in a hurry to get where I'm going to hand it over..

After putting on a brave face for the past six months or so, as evidence of a severely slowing Australian economy mounted around it, the Reserve Bank has finally capitulated by slashing its economic expectations.

100% correct - even an economic dumby like me could see that coming.
Love the cartoon  :goodjob:

Typo misery continues. That linked ABC article misspelled 'too long', printing 'to long' in the cartoon caption. The blunders are spreading from the mint to the broadcaster. :blubber:
