Title: Drops to idle revs
Post by: Laurie_t on May 21, 2022, 05:51:44
I have a 2011 deisel i30 auto sedan with 125,000 km on the clock.
Intermittantly while driving the engine drops to idle revs.
This occurs:
Mainly in winter (cold days), not so much in summer.
When going around a corner, but not exclusively.
If I take my foot off the accel' pedal and back on it works correctly.
If I floor it, it comes good.
If I just coast (leave my foot in its original position) in comes good in about 30 seconds.
Have already reset the cpu to no avail.
As its now winter here, it has become really annoying.
I had the codes checked and there were not errors showing. Doh !!!
I hesitate to take it to a dealer and let them play Guess the part, replace, guess again, replace. etc.

Any help would be appriciated.

Fixed it, so FYI.

A dealer finally found error code P2299, which indicates accellerater/brake pedal.
They quoted me A$1200 to repair.
I bought and fitted a brake pedal switch for $41 and fitted it in 1/2 hour.

Great to have it fixed, but astonished at the dealer. This is immoral and gready. I know they have overheads, but geez !
