Hi all. I note this has been an issue in previous models from a basic search, but couldn’t find any specific answer.
2016 i30, 1.6 diesel blue drive, 105,000 miles
Cars been faultless so far
Driving along and accelerator stops working, engine continues as normal and gear down to first and stop. Traction control light on and occasional flash of amber start/stop light. Pedal application does nothing, engine idles normally.
Ten minutes later, start engine all works normal for about 500m then same again, this time only light is engine light.
RAC come next day, starts fine, no lights, pedal normal, only fault code stored are to do with camshaft/crankshaft pressure, but could of been there a long time. Drive home.
Taken to garage for a few days and can’t find fault.
Next drive, same thing happens again after approximately the same distance, however no lights at all and the engine goes to idle at 1250RPM-normally 900.
So far garage can’t find a fault again. I’ve told them to take it on a longer drive, as it seems a coincidence it was about the same distance, therefore temp?
