Hi All.

my i30 has reached 100ks and it's time for a coolant change, on top of that, while checking in cold, noticed the reservoir was lower than low.
though no problems with overheating.

I'd like to get another 100ks out of the coolant, Is it OK to go for the red Nulon red, instead of the green? and if so, how many liters do I need?

Wont Start

I've been having some trouble with my 2011 i30 as of late. When the engine is cold it takes up to 5-6 goes to start, it started off as a rough start and has been getting progressively worse over the last couple of months. If I start the engine again after a few hours (so its not fully cold) there is no issue, and while driving there is no problems. Only has trouble when i start it in the morning or after being at work. I've included a video, i only started recording after a few attempts at starting it.

The car has has been into Hyundai and no fault codes came up, while it was there the latest software update ...

Glow Plug
Hi. I'm new to diesel and to the i30 but heard many good things about it so I bought a 2008 1.6 CRDi with 87 megameters on the clock.

White / blue smoke emitted from exhaust on start. Persists until engine is warm (about 30 seconds).
Also rough idle on start. Persists until engine is warm.

80 amp glow plug fusible link blown.

Testing and diagnosis:
Checked continuity of plugs using multimeter set to measure resistance. All readings below 1 Ohm.
Checked potential between fuse box terminal (not connected to number 1 glow plug) and battery. Reading is 12.7 volts.
Glow plug relay tested for continuity using a 12 volt source to close the relay 'switch'. Relay ...

Rear Struts

This is my first message on here so please be nice!  :)

Me and the wife are expecting our first baby in July and require a car that is suitable for the bags, pram etc that come with having a little he or she.

The model we are looking at is around a 2013/2014 i30 version.

Does anyone have any experience of what prams fit and don't fit in the boot and how people find using the Isofix seating?

Thanks for you're time, any help will be great.

I bought my 2010 i30 CW second hand about a year ago. It now has now done about 55,000 ks.  It's my first automatic and has driven fine. Just after Christmas the malfunction indicator light went on. A bit over a week later it went off a minute or 2 after starting up, with a loud beep.

I finally got it in to the local hyundai dealer to read the error codes and they tell me it needs a new transmission, about $5k all up. From reading some other posts, it seems that this may be a bit of an issue with some i30s around this distance?  Is this true, does anyone have any insughs or suggestions about how to proceed, other than sucking it up and getting a new transmission?  :)

Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated.  Cars ar...

Check Engine Light
Hello everyone,

I have my i30 Comfort petrol since it was new in 2009.
Hardly any trouble until recently.
The car wont start, just cranks.
In the dashboard, the icon of a car with a key comes on solid, and disappears after a minute.

Took the car to the Hyundai dealer in Oxford three times, but problem keeps reoccurring.

Initially, the car just occasionally would not start.
Booked the car in, but they could not find any fault.

The 2nd time  they found the exhaust flexi pipe cracked and thought the poor start was due to excessive oxygen flow.  They replaced the exhaust flexi pipe for the cost of 320.  Drove back home, but the fault re-occurs in the following morning.

I bought a new i30 cdri hatch in 2010 with the hope of it lasting for a long time, possibly for the rest of my driving life. I actually chose it as it was a "car of the year". However, it hasn't been exactly trouble free. At about my wife and I noticed a "moaning" sound on take off and reported it. At 43000 the dealer agreed and replaced the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing and machined the flywheel under warranty. Their description of the problem was "found throw out bearing and pressure plate responsible for the noise(were mateing surfaces meet)".
Fast forward to June 2016 (6 months and 1800 klm. out of warranty) We became aware of a vibration between 1800 and 2000 rpm under load. It was there at other times but not so no...

Hi guys,
Yesterday I bought a 2015 (MY16) i30 Active X Auto. Just have a couple of questions as a new owner of this i30.

1. What fuel does Hyundai recommend/what is the car designed to run best on? I know that Unleaded is specified in the manual but is it better to use 95/98? Or can I just stick with 91?
2. Does my car's model come with window tinting as a factory standard? (I can't really tell from looking at the car and there's no mention of it on the original purchase receipt docket). I would like to get the darkest legal tint on my car and need to know if I will incur fees for stripping off any previous tint.
3. There is a strange smell in the car, not sure if it's coming from the air con or what but it smells ...

I have noticed lately that on my 2009 1.6 CRDi 116hp hatchback that instead of the turbo spooling up from about 1500rpm like it normally does it doesn't start spooling up until between 2200 and 2500 rpm.
This makes the car feel a bit lethargic.
It seems to do it more when the engine is cold and less so when it has warmed up.
Sometimes it's fine, other times it's not.
It's as if the variable vane actuator isn't always working.
Any ideas please?

Morning All,

I have recently purchased an i30 SR 2016 model, (and love the car, except for the HORN) I prefer to use the USB to listen to my music. Apart from taking a little while to load (which I'm fine with), it seems that the stereo only reads a certain number of files/tracks. I have a 128GB USB Stick.

What are the limitations with the USB drive in the car? and is there any way around this? I spent quite a bit of time putting all the tracks in artist folders so not sure if this made it worse or not but it's definitely easier to find the artist. I found some old post about this but thought that it may have been fixed by Hyundai since
