We finally bit the bullet and bought a brand new PD i30 SR Premium!

We can now say we have owned every generation of i30! With each generation we have finally bought a top spec! Looking back at our humble FD i30 SX wagon, the PD has a massive list of features!

In Feb we sold our GD i30 elite and bought a 2016 DM Santa Fe Active diesel, its been an awesome car to own!

Our salesman Alex, from Essendon Hyundai gave us a great deal.

So we decided to go back to Alex and see what he could do and he didnt let us down!

We got a brand new PD SR Premium with tint, mats, cargo liner, black slimline plates, metallic paint, full tank of fuel and 5 years free servicing for $34,900 driveaway!

When we bought the Santa Fe we were negotiating with Frankston Hyundai and Essendon Hyundai. Unfortunately Frankston didnt quite offer the best deal, unfortunately again Frankston just fell short and wanted to charge an additional $400 for window tint.

If you're in Victoria and want to deal with a great salesman who doesn't give you the silly sales pitches... then see Alex at Essendon Hyundai. Very friendly and even kept us up to date with offers since we told him we were not in a rush to buy.

Sounds a great price but......... did you ask/get mud flaps and the full tank of fuel which seems to be the deal breaker here......
  • 1.4 Petrol Active I'm no expert, so please correct me if

I think with the included extras mentioned and 5 years of free servicing that would be the deal maker :goodjob2: most places give you a tank of fuel without even asking these days though there are still some tight dealers about.

I have had them tell me there would be a full tank, then after driving off the first time I noticed it wasn't there.

Second a different dealer said there would be a full tank, I insisted it be put on the contract, which was lucky as a nother salesperson did the delivery and when I pointed out the tank was nearly empty he fluffed on about how they always come 1/4 full and they don't normally fill the tank. After pointing at the contract he was off to fill the car.

Would have preferred 5 years of servicing though.....

great news on the new car, nice model too.
I was looking at one at a dealer not far from home, asked if I could get manual pd sr as would like a turbo petrol manual. the young salesman said a manual is not a very common thing these day's. so I left as not driving an auto again.

Wow! That is a great deal Dean! that's only about 4K more than I paid and I only ended up getting the first two services thrown in.

I'm guessing 5 years free servicing will be only up to 50K (5 services) which would only cover me for 2 years, but still a bonus worth having.

What colour did you choose. I'm guessing blue?

We got a great deal!

Yes forgot to mention also include a full tank of fuel haha

Unfortunately no mud flaps.... cant believe how expensive they are as an extra!

The free scheduled servicing covers up to 75,000km. We have the same deal on our Santa Fe.

The free servicing deal just ended on Wednesday. Im surpised they didnt advertise it give that the i30 was excluded from the recent $1000 cash back deal.

We were almost going for the blue, but deecided on the grey again...pretty much the same colour as our FD wagon. There was a brief time we were consider white or orange... orange is quite hard to get. There was 3 avaliable in the stock pool last week within the country.

I definitely think  well continue to buy our cars from Essendon Hyundai going forward. Cant praise them enough on they're service. We test drove the i30 about 2 months ago and Alex knew we weren't in a rush so he kept us up to date with offers.

That's great Dean. Just remember the SR is every 10k or 12 months so 75k seems a bit odd?

Full set of 4 mudflaps are only $77 trade price, which they should give you if you put the thumb screws on. That is what I paid.  :goodjob:
