I have recently purchased a 2011 i30 Trophy, second hand. It drives like a dream, but I'm having issues with the cruise control. It allows me to switch it on, but it will not allow me to set it. Or, the set light will flick on and then off immediately. I understand there was an issue related to the brake switch for this model, I have tried pumping the brake when I've started the vehicle, and having a bit of a jiggle - but I'm not having any success. Any suggestions, or any idea how much this may cost to fix? Cheers!

It might be worth calling into a Hyundai dealer to check if this particular car was subject to the brake switch recall and if it has been done. They can tell from your V.I.N.
Or, is it still under any kind of warranty from where you bought it?

Others may have more advice so check back periodically.

Sounds an awful lot like the brake light switch to me. This is known to upset the cruise and even if it was fixed they may have put the wrong one in (so needs checking)

If that is the issue it would should be fixed FOC under warranty, even if outside of the warranty period.

If there's no issue with the brake switch , could also be the clock spring or the steering switch itself but I would put the clock spring before the steering switch.

Could be number of things really so it's a how long is a piece of string question for cost.

May have no choice but to pay someone with the right scantools to check it out

I would put money on the recall has been done for brake switch but wrong switch has been installed. (3 switch options depending on trim level)
