Hi all
Unfortunately at some point someone has managed to strip the inner thread of the locking wheel nut removal key for my UK 2011 i30.  There is no code within the original wheel nut pack in my car so I can't order the correct replacement.  Does anyone know of a way of removing the wheel nuts or at least me finding out which particular version I have on my car? Many thanks

Probably a cold chisel in an air gun. Provided they aren't too recessed.

find a socket that is slightly too small for the nut and bash it on with a hammer, that will assist with removal.

A photo would help, is it an internal or external type lock key :undecided:

So it's a male key to female wheel nut, can you fit a large screwdriver or similar into the wheel nut key slot and twist with a shifter/wrench

Why not make a mould of one of the nuts with some clay then let it dry and use that as a template to shop for the correct key.

You could also take a photo of a nut and send that by email to the key seller to see if they can supply the right key.  :undecided:

thanks for the advice. I have some new nuts and key but will have to remove the original ones from the wheels. So I don't mind damaging them if I can just get them off. Maybe a tyre fitter has a way of removing them?
I am not sure that I have the tools to try it myself.

Good move.
They will use the method I explained above,  or cookie thumpers socket idea.
I've tried the screw driver idea a couple of times without success. Depends how tightly they've been done up.
