Just a general heads up and potential warning for anyone looking at a "Repairable" 2010 Red i30 Trophy Hatch.
@nzenigma and I share the same opinion on this vehicle recently listed on Gumtree.
Assuming it's the same vehicle and we believe it is, here's a little insight.
It's been bobbing up and down on Gumtree for over 12 months now. originally it was on the Northside , listed at Chermside. First time I spotted it it was at no price but repairable write-off with a compressed front end and I think airbag deployed. had logbooks and 86000k
It then had a hiatus and re-appeared by the same chap as repaired, just needs the QLD WOVI. I recall something around $3000
Some more time passed and then it was relisted again, greatly reduced $1200 comes to mind with the words CAN NOT BE REGISTERED.
Now i don't know if that meant it failed inspection or still just need one but sounded like the goose was cooked at this point.
It then after some time dropped off Gumtree.
Today I believe it's the same vehicle based on the following details.
The vehicle I recall was, 2010, i30 trophy, Red, Hatch, Auto, books, 86000K, rear tint bubbled and after the front end was fixed I noticed they went cheap anddid not replace the left fog.
Hell of a coincidence
So if you're in the market and looking at this be very aware. If it was legit, $3200 would not be the expected price tag, you'd be bailing out closer to $1200 because that's the last price I saw and more likely went for less.
Of course if I am wrong I apologise to the seller unreservedly.
