HI,

I have a Hyundai I30 mk1 2012.
Car was driving fine then wouldn't start yesterday, the immobiliser light is flashing on the dash.
Have done the usual tried different keys, disconnected the battery etc.
If the immobiliser light does stay on it starts flashing when you crank the engine.
The rev counter does jump to around 200rpm when cranking.
My code reader wont read the code if any.
Would this fault point to the key reader/antenna.
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Well it could be, if it's flashing then it's not reading a valid chip. Since it's all keys then either it's dumped the programming or not reading. I'd go with not reading as most likely. Probably need dealer level scanner to get codes or live data on immo.

Thanks,
The immobiliser light is flickering then starts to flash even when cranking its flashes.
I read another post that a garage found water ingress.
I will have to find where the immobiliser is located an a rhd car.
thanks

The antenna is around the ignition barrel, the smartra is bolted to a beam that supports the steering column up high in a difficult spot under the dash cover, the ecu generally is bolted to the air cleaner. Not sure where the water ingress is likely other than at the ecu harness

Hi.

There is no water inside of car.
I will get it scanned with a Delphi reader and see what codes pop up.

Hi, I had a similar issue a few months back, were the immobiliser symbol on the dash would appear very faintly or not at all, first place i checked was the fuse panel in the cabin to the right of the steering wheel, (Right hand drive car) turns out that was all it was, a quick push back into place and no issues since, fingers crossed.
