For owners who have Dual Clutch Transmission, have you noticed a constant clicking noise?

I have acquired a 2015 Diesel i30 with 7 speed DCT. It has travelled about 80,000 km.

There is a continuous rhythmic clicking noise when idling and in Park or Neutral. Noise disappears at 1100 rpm +.

It also appears in Drive as revs fall back toward 1000rpm.

Some US Veloster owners have complained about clicking. Hyundai says it is the transmission going through a self test;  but some seem to indicate a more prolonged noise like this guy.
While he looks the part in a nice racy jacket and cap, he still cant find the noise. BUT, that is exactly what I can hear.  :link: rattling clunking vibration sound on 2016 veloster turbo with 76k - YouTube

This is where it is coming from on the transmission:

With assistance from good mate Gerard, we know we are looking at the clutch engagement motors.

Question is , Is this normal? It does not sound like bearing wear.

Would appreciate comment from @cruiserfied  if you have time mate.

Hi Gary, I certainly haven't noticed a clicking noise in my PD. However, I've been told by several experts and Trish I need hearing aids..  :whistler:

Don't feel bad about that Dazz, I picked up on it when it was in my workshop, outside, sitting in the car you cant hear the noise.
Same with the Yanks, they only know they have a noisy car when they roll down the window at a "drive through".

Thanks for your info. Interesting, page 27 of the owners manual advises that you will hear self testing clicks which is normal.

Good to see you have those Ks up , making the most of a nice car. :goodjob2:
