So down the rabbit hole I go.

Was going to go all out but have wound it back to a basic install comprising off 2 x Rockford Fosgate 10" shallow subs 1 x Rockford Fosgate 5 channel amp and front component speakers (still not determined but most likely Hertz or Focal).

For now I will be using LOC's for the signal but if this proves unsatisfactory I'll add something along the lines of an Audiocontol LC8i

Power wise I'll leave the OEM battery for now but add a 2 farad cap into the system, I had the same in my Mazda 3 which had a bigger install and it proved OK but time will tell and if I need more storage and a bigger alternator then so be it.

Awaiting delivery of the amp and subs but thought I would make a start on the boot fitout anyways and the enclosure is mostly done, now to sort the trim panels and get it carpeted..

I will update as it progresses but for now here's the enclosure, Yes I loose 100mm of boot depth but keeping the spare is a must.

Cheers, yeah for round town commuting I find the OE stezza adequate as background noise playing triple M but Iam do a lot of runs between Brisbane and Coffs so I like to crank the metal and its there that the OE system fails so time to sort it !!

Looking good Cookie Thumper  :goodjob:
I am currently using a $40 Gumtree bargain Kenwood 12" KFC 3005 subwoofer & enclosure with Pioneer Gm-a3702 2/1 Channel Bridgeable 500w amp with high level feeds from rear door speakers. With the Morel 602 replacements for crap OEM speakers it certainly got bass. I will admit it is a bit chunky in boot and not discreet. Your install is much more refined :)

Don't use high level inputs if you can afford not to, rubbish signal and I bet the rears aren't getting the full range signal you should feed any amp, get an LC2i from audiocontrol

Rear speakers definitely quieter after tapping off for high level feed into amp, so a balancing act with OEM Audio controls  & amp Input level :crazy1: to be honest quite happy with the additional bass. The Standard stereo and speakers is the most disappointing part of the car to me. Previously had Veloster with standard sub in boot and although blew a few door speakers which were replaced under warranty , the sound was much richer.

I will be adding some sound deadening butyl sheets to inner door panels next. The LC converters are good, although bit more expensive they do exactly what they are meant to do with accurate adjustment.
Keep the pictures coming on your install

I hear ya loud and clear but my goal is a basic upgrade, if using LOC's (will use front for source, not rear) proves unsatisfactory I will then look to stepping it up but that comes at considerable expense.

Yeah dont really like selling new cars after a few short months ownership but Thailand, I moved back from there 1st January after a 12 year stint so it feels like home to me and to be heading back is awesome.
