Title: Oil level light is on after an oil change and new oil level sensor replaced
Post by: gooberparr on February 20, 2021, 13:06:50
Hi, I have a oil level light on my i30 Diesel 1.6 2010, had an oil change, new oil filter, also a new oil level sensor, no oil leak and oil is at the correct level...

Any ideas on what could be the issue or the fix? Any advice would be appreciated 😌

Thanks in advance

There's an oil pressure switch as well, which is screwed in around the base of the oil filter housing. I don't know for sure, but I assume it just has a contact which closes when the engine starts and oil pressure builds up. If I'm right, then if you pull the plug off it and link across the plug connections with a bit of wire then the oil warning light on the dash should turn off, with the ignition on. It's not an expensive part, shouldn't be more than £15 for genuine Hyundai part.

I had a look at my 2015 diesel, the oil pressure switch has a different part number and there appear to be 4 wires in the plug, so it may not be quite as simple as I thought. This is when you need a wiring diagram.
