I have a notice for future i30 owners in Europe :
Tomorrow, on November 3rd, begin production of i30 cars in Czech Hyundai factory in Nosovice. Plans are to produce 18.000 cars to the end of the year 2008. Long waiting periods for Hyundai i30 in Europe are probably over.

The company plans the launch ceremony for series production of the Hyundai i30 passenger model for 3 November. By the end of this year, the plant should ship 18,000 vehicles.

The capacity of the plant is scheduled to gradually increase to 300,000 passenger cars per year. There will be 2,750 staff working at Nošovice; by 2011 the number should increase to 3,400.

The total size of Hyundai's investment at Nošovice is EUR 1.12 billion.

Hyundai want to build that factory to Turkey (as they are producing Accent,Matrix,etc. like the other brands like
Toyota (Auris and Corolla Verso) , Honda (civic saloon) , Renault , Fiat ) but the government didnt have a deal with Hyundai.

I am happy for Czech people, take care of the new i30's

Mine was made still in Korea, I have it since July. So I'm pretty no patriotic in this matter of fact.
Nevertheless , i take i30 as the home made product, sort of.

I'm also curious, which car parts will Hyundai use for their Czech born cars as original equipment. For example tyres : near (85 km) KIA factory in Slovakia use for i30 sibbling Kia Ceed,  Michelin Energy tyres.
