Title: New Royal Enfield 650 Twin
Post by: CraigB on November 16, 2020, 14:37:40
My new bike finally turned up a week ago after waiting quite a while for parts to arrive, Covid problems world wide has really screwed up transport and parts availability :disapp: parts changed/added so far are Motone brake and indicator lights with headlight bracket and tank pads, fork gaiters with Biltwell Tracker handlebars and alloy bar end mirrors helped complete the front end.

Still waiting on the S&S race mufflers to arrive in the country ( so I can remove those huge cans :crazy1: ) and my stage 2 intake system should arrive early new week hopefully, once they've arrived I can start looking at custom headers and ECU tuners and suspension upgrades :D that might keep me satisfied for a year or so before I start planning big bore kits :snigger:

Anyhow I'm loving it and have only managed to put 50km's on it so far, spent more time polishing it than riding :snigger:

Interested to see how the quality fares if you manage to put more miles into the bike ;) I heard very contradictory comments about the Himalayan...

I think some early Himalayan’s had some issues, not sure what they were :undecided: they’ll soon be releasing a new Himalayan with the new 650 motor though I’ve not heard of any issues with the 411 engine, chassis is designed by the same guy who designed the Ducati Multistrada.

Still totally different bike to my 650 twin which use an English Harris chassis and English designed motor which has already proven itself over the last two years, there are plenty of video’s available on them showing how bulletproof they are :)

Royal Enfield (Eicher Motors Limited) also bought the long time and world famous Harris chassis company so I’m expecting they’ll use their chassis technology in all new bikes.

Congratulations   :clapthanks:
Always like to see the 2 wheel side of life.
Big bore means ; cams and springs and valves and fuel input mods.
Christmas around the corner for bits  :D, and double demerits points .
Enjoy,  bugs  :goodjob:

If I'm feeling tight I can wear the open face and get enough protein to skip dinner :D

It's telling me, 60 day's since last post here.
So sorry for being slow!!
Great bike there Craig!! I have a few friends with them. One of them has upgraded a few to 860, with big bore kit, and head work cams & pipes. And getting good results. ( in the Sydney suburbs ) Have taken a few RE's to Sydney drags.

Time has certainly flown by :) I've put 2100km's on the bike now so thought I'd add an update on what I've been busy doing over the last five months.

Added YSS rear shocks for better handling and a more classic look ( front YSS shock internals coming ), BAAK classic leather seat for more comfort and better look, adjustable brake/clutch levers, brushed stainless guards, S&S race mufflers, Revelry Racing headers.

Craig , great stuff!
You should Contact Wil & Santina @ Revalry , Burwood Sydney as they know there stuff, I think Wil has some custom maps as spent a lot of time building & tuning with the S&S products. And I think a few of there own design tuning tricks with those bikes. Very nice people too.
Enjoy

I have know. Them about 15 or more years, since they moved from. USA Wil was a trouble shooter for the Harley Factory. Very smart   man! Santina also has a good understanding or bikes & motors, can talk to her about bikes at any level, would give good advice also.
