Title: iPhone Mount
Post by: smashbie on January 16, 2020, 05:27:34
Hi all,

I have an iPhone X and i'm looking to mount it with a phone holder for me 09 i30 SX. I purchased a vent mount from ebay but it just doesn't hold and falls off the vent.

Any suggestions on the best way to mount the phone for this car?

Thanks.

Do you have the flip-top dash pocket? I use it for a permanently mounted and wired-in, sun-protected GPS. You could create a bracket clamped by the top door even when closed. I 3D print and have experimented with alternative ways of mounting phones and GPSs in this area.

Send me details of the mount you bought and I'll design some adapter for you.

Here you go: assuming you bought the round magnetic base of 33mm diameter, this will hook into the lip of the top pocket and hold your phone above the radio display.

Just one option, many more to explore.
