@Dazzler (and any other PD/PD2 SR owners) - need to decide if I want/need tint on the SR... I know the spec is solar glass... but am I correct in assuming that new i30 doesn't come with privacy glass already?  I know the Kona has rear "privacy" glass in elite/highlander models, but I didn't think that was the case for the i30 upper echelons (?).

Regardless - have any opinion about tint on the current generation? 

I don't have a preference... and it's great in summer... but I'm worried it will annoy me on long winter nights in Melbourne.

Edit... anyone know what kind of glass is used in the sunroof?

I am a huge window tint fan. I can't remember the last time I didn't get my windows tinted. Some say it doesn't make the car any cooler but I really notice the difference when I get an untinted rental car. I can't believe how hot the sun feels on my arm and side of my face. I also like the look and it cuts out the glare in the mirrors from cars behind. I don't find any down sides.

Edit: I answered that quickly from my phone and didn't address your questions sorry. The factory tint is minimal on my base (non premium) SR. I think the premium is the same. All Hyundai factory sunroofs are tinted pretty dark. I would assume that was anti UV (Solar glass) too.

I am also a huge fan of tint. Another benefit is if a big bikie pisses you off you can give him the finger salute without him seeing you, Just don't do it when you forget your windows down.

Thanks all. I've given the go-ahead for DarkKnight film tint sold/marketed by MotorOne. I got them down on the cost a bit, and I think it was the right call. Cheers.

Cheers Pappy... All pretty good with UV. So is the sunroof classed as tinted or Solar? I would have thought tinted but the solar has an S next to it.

The Solar Glass specs apparently also apply to the Sunroof, wasn't able to get much more out of Hyundai's customer service.

I've tinted my SR Premium and find the car isn't as hot inside as my previous cars on sunny days.

As far as I  could tell there was no tint or privacy glass on my sr premium but I had it tinted last week.
Went 20% all round
Always had tint on my cars and would never go without it.
Keeps the car cooler and definitely looks cooler 😎
