Hey all. Over the course of the next few days we'll be moving to a new host as our current provider is closing down their business. There will be significant interruption and downtime. If you have a Facebook account you can keep uptodate on there. :link: Facebook

Headlight
Hi all, i was wondering if any of you had managed to fit on their GD aftermarket xenon lights and led sidelights, if so have you got any links of it? Do i need any special adapters for the bulb? Would i get any warning on my dash? I'm still learning about my GD as i had it nearly 2 years but never done anything to it apart from keeping it clean, aftermarket android unit and wind deflectors.
hope to hear from you all soon!

Testimonials
Acquired at the end of 2012 as I recall our diesel GD now has almost 60k km on it. In that time its been involved in a nose to tail collision which was properly repaired. It's lived outdoors and is largely unloved but the interior is still in great shape. The paint could use some love at some point however. It's had one battery replaced and Pirelli tires installed which it seems to like very much. It's been thoroughly reliable and runs well.

I've long ago ditched the dealer we bought it from for servicing and found another much better one closer to home for the win. Servicing costs continue to be affordable and now the work is done right the first time as well.

Its had both front window regulators replaced, one under ...

Wipers
I've read a few threads on this subject area - as my i30 could do with it's front wipers being replaced. The fronts are 26"(650mm drivers) & 16"(400mm pax) - they're the hook arm attachment style.

Now with all my previous vehicles it was simply pop the rubber out and slide a new one in - but it seems the design on these new ones has changed somewhat - and a lot of people seem to prefer or perceive that they replace the ENTIRE blade instead.

This susprised me as much more expensive (full retail price for these seems to go $70-80 for both blades, cheaper on sale) - but does seem a tad wasteful to toss the blade when it's just the rubber that needs replacing.

Called the local Hyundai dealer, and they advised th...

Spark Plug
Hi all,
For the last hour i've been looking for NGK spark plugs for the 2017 I30 SR and for the life of me cannot find which ones exactly they are.
I think the spark plugs are to fit the g4fj but then when i serach for them on ebay it seems to suggest that they will fit a veloster but not the i30 SR.

Can anyone clear things up and ideally link me?

Thanks in advance.

Headlight
Hi all
My offside dipped bulb went pop the other day, ordered a replacement from Halfords but I'm worried that the process will involve practically stripping the front of the car.  It's a 2015 (65) "GD" model.  Have searched google but all I find are "step 1, take the entire car to bits ...".

Anyone got any links to useful guides or videos on if this can be done without all that?
Note, Halfords wanted £10 to fit but I just assumed it'd be "open bonnet, find the rear plate and remove, swap bulb and put everything back" job?

Glow Plug
Hey Guys and gals.

From this topic :link: 2010 1.6 CRDI hot weather starting. , I don't know why but I couldn't add to it so I am starting a new topic.

I decided to do this after reading this :link: i30 2009 FD CRDi Glow Plugs

I just replaced the 4 glow plugs on my I30 FD CRDI which has done 240,000 kms now , I purchased the glow plug ages ago but was reluctant to do it due to being afraid of snapping them on removal.

I shouldn't have been worried , I just did this and couldn't believe how easy it was to do and had no issues at all removing t...

Clock Spring
So after many months of my Airbag/seatbelt light coming on intermittently and than staying on all the time, I've decided to replace the Airbag Clock Spring on my 2014 CRDI i30, especially since lately my steering wheel control buttons stopped responding. The entire operation was a success, no more dash light, Steering wheel controls are working again.
This is the actual Ebay link I used and received today, probably took a good hour/half all up taking my time:

Bluetooth
Hi all

Since i first got the car, when i made a call, connected to my phone via Bluetooth, it would come on the central display and automatically come through the audio system.

At some point, can't remember when, it changed. Now it will show on the screen but the audio will continue to come through the phone's speakers until it's answered THEN an alert comes on the screen asking if i want to use the car's audio system. It's a nuisance.

Any idea what may have changed and if i can change it back to being automatically through the car's speakers?

It's the i30 estate, 67 reg.

The phone is the Samsung galaxy note 20 ultra with the latest OS, Android 13, One UI 5.0

Cheers, Marc
