Oil Leak
Hi All,
I've a MY18 PD diesel that has the 7 speed DCT. First registered in 04JUL2017, so technically the 5yr warranty 'ended' a week and a bit ago.

I'd long ago decided it might be an idea to change the DCT fluid - even though Hyundai as to do at 120,000km (mine is at 64,000km). I only drive around once a fortnigh, my wife using it every day.

Having some extra time I removed the under engine guard after jacking it up and placing on stands today - immediately I noticed what appeared to be a build up of fluid on the underside of the DCT where the unit is screwed together - apparently Hyundai uses a sealant to form a gasket between the two metal sides.

I'd had an oil leak from the filter housing before (d...

Problems & Issues
I’ve noticed this before but never thought of it as a major problem until I had an issue with an indicator and whilst Hyundai were fixing it I was given an i20 for a week.

When I set off my RPM drop from X to 1K every time, what ever the mode, how ever slow or quick I release the clutch and how ever much I press the accelerator.

It causes a big jerk when setting off which I had learned to sort of subconsciously predict and ride the jerkiness, but for passengers it’s an uncomfortable take off. But since having the i20 courtesy car and realising how smooth and engaging both the accelerator and clutch felt it’s making me wonder if I’ve got issues with mine that I need to sort whilst it’s still under warranty.

Cruise Control
Hello i30 owners.
I have a 2013 GD i30 6spd Manual 1.6 CRDI Diesel.
It’s done 200,000ks. Lately, I have noticed the cruise control seems to be a bit dodgy. I will put it on in 4th or 5th and it will work then it will turn of for some reason. Has this happened to anyone else?
Would really appreciate some help here as I am completely stumped.

TPMS
Hi all,

I recently had all four tyres on my Hyundai i30 replaced at the garage. Since they were replaced, I noticed my TPMS malfunction indicator appeared on my dashboard.

I asked the guy at the garage about it and he told me if I drive for about 15-20 minutes, it should automatically turn off.

I have done this but it did not turn off. I'm not getting a low tyre pressure warning on my dashboard and the TPMS malfunction indicator was not on before I took the car to the garage.

Does anyone have any advice for me please? And what I should do next?

Thanks.

Problems & Issues
Hi everyone,

I’m trying to find a brake switch for my 2013 i30, it’s the special edition 3dr manufactured in Czech Republic, so it’s a bit hard to find the exact one. The number on the actual brake switch is 13BS (I think as it’s a bit hard to read) my question is does anyone know where I can find this one or if a switch with a different number will work?

Thanks for anyone that can help 🙏

Advice
My 2015 1.6 diesel has recently begun to not start first time. The engine isn't cranking but there is a whirring sound as though the starter motor is spinning. If I stop and try again it usually starts as normal. I know the solenoid should push the starter pinion along the shaft splines to engage with the teeth on the flywheel, and the contact in the solenoid should close to energise the motor. Does anyone have experience in overhauling the starter motor? My thoughts are that it could be the pinion is sticking on the motor shaft, or the motor brushes are worn down. Any ideas?

Door Locking
Hi all
My wife had some acrobatics yesterday as the driver's door of her Hyundai i30 Trophy 2012 petrol 2ltr would not unlock and for that matter does not work with either the key or remote. So we are stuck with a car that needs 61-year-old acrobatics to climb over to the passenger side to get out. What can I look for to help ourselves as being on disability pension means taking it to a workshop is out of the question at the moment. I am pretty handy and have once already replaced the inside door panel of the same-mentioned door. Any help from the brain's trust would be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance
Kind regards
Roger

Sat Nav
Hello,

My stock head unit's sat nav broke down recently and I decided to try my hand at installing a Sony XAV-AX5000 into my 2015 i30 gd. I had been interested in using android auto for a while now and this seemed like the perfect excuse to go for it. My model was unfortunately not included in the Hyundai android auto rollout (2015 q4 and onward i30 models only).

I thought I'd share my journey through this process since there were some odd bits and pieces I found during installation (granted I'd never done anything like this before!).

I also found these threads very helpful throughout the process:

Door Locking
G’day all, first time registered, long time lurker.

I’ve been doing little repairs on my parents I30, most have been easy fixes but I’ve got an issue which I’m trying to diagnose and couldn’t find an exact match in the search.
My parents don’t have a remote and operate the central locking with a key, I’ve had to repair both doors on the passenger side but now when you turn the key only they drivers door opens. I’m assuming there’s no electrical signal coming from the drivers door and am hoping to find a relay or module inside the car. From there I could chuck the multimeter in and turn the lock with the key from the outside and see if here’s a signal.

Is there a smarter way to work out if the drivers door actuator...
