Hi all,

I've had my i30 since new so going on 9 years and it's up around the 155,000km mark and has been a great car. In recent months the gear shifts were getting pretty tough mainly 1st, 2nd, 3rd. At my last service they replaced the slave cylinder, but that didn't seem to make much difference. So I took it back and they replaced the master clutch cylinder and since then it's gotten worse. Long story short, today when shifting from 3rd to 4th, I lost all my gears and ended up getting a tow to a mechanic who won't look at it until next week. Has anyone got any ideas what I could be in for? When I say I 'lost my gears', it still goes into gear at idle, but just grinds and does not move.

Assume they checked the clutch for potential wear etc. and deemed ok.

What is the bite height on the clutch pedal?

Clutch or damper? Is the 2014 one where you can see the slave cylinder operate? And does rapidly pumping the clutch allow the gearbox to get fully engaged into 1st?

They checked the clutch but I'm not fully convinced. It's at a different mechanic now so I'll call them tomorrow and suss out the plan.

It still goes into gear no worries, but when you go to take off, it'll travel about a metre before just grinding and going no where.

Not sure on the bite height sorry.

Howdy, nope doesn't stall, stays running but goes no where.
