My garage door did not open fully and I backed out on the shark fin antenna (tell me the odds...). The housing has been scratched and there is now a gap between the car and the antenna. Can this be fixed DIY by lets say glueing back or should I just go to a crash repair place and have it repaired?

I am mainly concerned about the gap as I would not want any water to leak in.
At the moment I have put some duct tape, in hopes to keep water away in case it rains.

Do you have any other ideas?

Not so sure there's glue there. I'm guessing a grommet base with a bolt through it. Some workshop manual info would help.

Would rather see you use something less permanent than glue, like silicone sealer. (clear). You may need to put something heavy on the antenna or tape it down tight with a bit of gaffer tape during the silicone's curing time to get a good seal.

A photo may have helped us assess the situation.

I ended up having it fixed and it cost me 250 AUD. What happened was the roof got dented and according to the technician, it also bent the hole where the antenna mounts.

I got quotes from 100AUD to 1.7k AUD...

The dent was completed fixed like it never happened but he did not fix the paint (I knew that). I am really happy with the results  and the scratch on the antenna is only visible if you are close. I have  some touch up paint that I may use.

Just to give you an example, 100 AUD quote, just wanted to beat the roof a bit and putting some silicone sealant. 1.7k wanted to repaint the whole roof. The 250 AUD quote I paid just banged everything back in place.

Yeah I feel that most places in Edwardstown just tried to scam me... I would avoid anything south of Anzac Hwy
