  • Sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma.
I finally got around to fitting this handy litte mod today.

A really simple "plug & play" job, the relay plugs straight in line between the existing wiring loom and door control panel.

It has the choice of two modes....
1. Mirrors fold in four seconds after ignition turned off and open when ignition started.
2. Mirrors close/open when locking/unlocking using the remote.

I have gone with the first option as the second option required cutting into the wiring loom to connect the green & grey wires you see in the photo.

I didn't think the standard mirrors had motors fitted to fold them in. Am I wrong or have you replaced the mirrors as well?

Top mod.
So are you saying that your mirrors folded in manually and you have now made threm automatic?
What is the difference between the cw mirrors and the SLX mirrors then?  :undecided:

Dave, the CW has folding mirrors operated manually by a push button switch one the driver's door switch panel.

The auto relay simply activates the mirrors via ignition off (close) ignition on (open).
Basically, I'm a lazy b....

I must admit I'd have been tempted to install something like this mod, a few years ago when Fergie was much newer, but the odd occasion when the car is frozen solid in the morning I'd be very wary of having the motor struggle to overcome the ice when trying to extend the mirrors from closed.

We do down here. Probably have a frozen car, not just frost, about a dozen times or more a year.

Do you have a part number?

No he doesn't, but his "use-by date" is well and truly expired.

Hi UM,
Is the relay something I can buy off ebay for plug & Play.
I can do plug & play but not so great on building electronics.
Thanks
Michael

Can you still fold the mirrors with the manual button - to enable you to fold them with the engine running?

I need to fold mine to get through the garage door.

In answer to the posted questions.

1. No part number as it's not a genuine Hyundai part.
2. Yes, I brought it on eBay. Will try and find the seller and post the link.
3. Yes, mirrors can be folded using the existing switch while the ignition is on.

Here's the eBay link

Hey,

I also ordered the relay. For those who are interested: 55 $  on ebay (free economy shipping or + 3 $ for standard shipping).
I'm still waiting for it. Bought three days ago.

It's done :happydance:

I had to wait still a long time, because the module was here in Germany at customs for three weeks.
It was easy to install. I decided to fold the mirrors by using the remote. It works and took 30 minutes.

I love it!

Good work.

Now, where are the "step by step" piccies? :P

I decided to fold the mirrors by using the remote.

That would be my choice too, as it would serve as a double-check that you'd locked your car, when you're walking away from it.
