I guess it always sounds like excuses but the timing isn't really right at the moment.
I'd like to get over there though. We've actually had (multiple) exchange students from Finland, Germany & Japan over the years and I enjoy learning about their culture etc.
It was also really good for our girls growing up to have a different perspective on things rather than just the Australian perspective I think.

Just watched all the vids. Amazing. Also especially love the ones from Finland. What a nice country. Looks a bit like Slovenia. The cars are also very identical. Love the snow. Is it always like that (the roads) in this period of year or are they "snow-free" after few days of "cleaning" ? One more thing I noticed..not that much traffic on Finland roads? Okay, it's true it was Saturday, but still..

I don't know myself, but can only suppose. I think a pedestrian, while crossing the road was knocked down by car. I just can not understand the purpose of the second Police car, that blocks the half of the road

Well, there are three types of car insurance in Russia:
1. Mandatory insurance (known as ОСАГО) - in case of car accident because of your fault, your insurance company will pay the repair expanses to the second side, but no more than 120000 rub (4000 USD roughly), unless the sum was extended to 1 million - 3 millions rubles. The price varies with region of registration and engine power.
2. Voluntary insurance (known as КАСКО), can be an obligation to anyone, who buys his/her car in credit (bank's demand). An insurance company will give you money if car is stolen or pays the repair expenses if the latter is damaged. The prices for insurance vary with driving experience, price of car, hijacking rating and previous driving history.
3. Green card - is valid beyond Russia
