My wife opened the key on the remote this morning and the part that goes in the lock flew off ! Looks like the metal chrome swivel has broken, hope it's covered by warrenty, about to phone dealer now. Only managed to get one remote so having to use spare key but use the remote to open/lock the car.

In my opinion defintely a warranty fault.

The keys falling apart were the subject of a TSB, and that was warranty repair.

The plastic case is ok, just the key stem has broken off the swivel.

There is plenty of consumer legislation to fall back on if they give you a hard time.

Dealer rang today, new fob has arrived. The 'key' part is attached to the new fob so no cutting a new one. Having fitted/programed tomorrow.

I'm not sure how the Hyundai warranty system works. Today I said to the guy on the phone 'will I have to pay anthing' and he said 'I hope not' ?? they will send my old one to Hyundai, once I have my new one how will they make me pay for it !

Will see tomorrow.

I'd guess the old parts will go in the bin, and that's the last you'll hear of it.
