Title: GD-01 Head Unit Factory Reset.
Post by: Halatron on August 27, 2018, 07:16:59
I have a 2013 i30 Active with the GD-01 Head Unit.
No sound is coming through the speakers at all so thought I'd try a factory reset to see if that helps.
Anyone know if there is a way to diy on this model??

Welcome Halatron.

Hopefully someone will be along shortly that will know. If not, you could try disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for at least 30 minutes.  That might work.

Hey did you found an answer ? cause I have an issue with my bluetooth not showing music title and artist information so I also want to reset it... Can you post a pic of your head unit to be sure that we are both talking about the GD-01 ?

I have an issue with my bluetooth not showing music title and artist information
That's not a fault, it's normal that Bluetooth doesn't display information, even the GD-03 doesn't show info in Bluetooth, all you see is a skip forward - reverse and pause.

That's interesting. I'm pretty sure it does in the PD. Mind you, I mostly use android auto via cable and seldom play music.  :undecided:

No answer as yet.
Battery has been replaced since the issue started happening and this offered no help.

Why not give Hyundai a call and ask if there is a reset procedure  :undecided: GD-01 units are problematic and I’ve heard of several that have had all sorts of issues.

My one blew up and was replaced under warranty, a month later I tossed it in the bin after installing a GD-03 unit, best thing I ever did🙂

I have spoken to the dealership, they won't tell me anything and insist I need to spend $150 on a diagnostic to solve the issue.
Thinking I might just replace the head unit when I've got some spare $

Thieving buggers they are :disapp: the only reset I know of is what Dazzler mentioned by disconnecting the negative battery terminal, I cant remember if the 01 units has a restore factory defaults setting :undecided: though I don't think that would help anyway.
