Not sure this was ever shared on the site back then interesting that they have dates November 2009 to April 2010... Wouldn't it be nice if those who paid their own fix got reimbursed...

I'll sticky it for future reference. Was just shared on the FB group.

It's an old one and our CW wa affected. They inspected it and to my knowledge no action taken. Ironically it was this car that in the last 2  months has randomly lost EPS.

So it was only last week or so I swapped the whole unit, only issue is the donor was Apr 2010

Quite an interesting one this, I had the full works of issues with mine.
I bought it 2nd hand not long ago, discovered it had the heavy steering issue, then the clunk etc. Got called into the dealers for a recall (didn't realise it was a recall issue, I thought I'd just bought a lemon).

Either way I ended up with them unable to update the software, so they ordered the new steering column, put me in a brand spanking i20 for a few days and even fixed the clutch issues without being asked (low bite).

Just thought I'd post up so people know it's worth chasing with their dealers etc. It's also a massive shout out to my local dealer in Liverpool who will be getting much more business from me in future given the excellent service

Just because people have asked me how to check if there is an open recall, you can use the .gov site below and your reg number (UK).

Every year in the last few years I have the EPS issue, my car was built in March 2010 (delivered April 2010 to Israel) but in Czech Republic not Australia/Asia
I found that resetting the steering sensor with a computer fixes the issue (at least from what I experience) for around a year
I'm currently having this issue and need to take care of it (bought a Foxwell NT510 Elite bi-directional, maybe I'll use it if it gets here soon enough)... I'll try to keep you guys updated :)
