Title: Child lock is stuck/won't unlock

The child lock on the fd 2010 diesel blue 1.6 is stuck on the rear left passenger door and won't unlock. I've tried removing the cover and spraying with wd40 around 20 times, but it wouldn't help. Without the cover on, it seems to be all the way to the left, but with the cover on, it does not appear all the way to the left. Any solutions that don't make me have to buy a new door?  :)

I would really appreciate any help because my father is disabled and struggles with getting in and out of the car

I changed the whole lock mechanic when they broke down. At the time they were 40€ for one side. couple of hours of work.
