Reading various threads, this one in particular, :link: Oil Cooler Replacement i30 2009 1.6crdi. , I am in the position of needing to replace the housing due to an oil pressure switch failing to seal with what looks like a damaged thread in extracting it. Sigh. So looking at it, it appears a relatively (I hope) straightforward job once to replace. With this in mind I have a couple of questions.

Has anyone done this and got any pearls of wisdom or videos of the job?

How do I identify the part number as there are many similar items which look identical but with different numbers?

I’ve just added two pics showing the part number of the cooler, and the second which if you zoom in and look just above the black ribbed pipe, I can see the issue… a crack in the casting!! Fine for 11 years and cracked now I’ve taken out the switch?? Aagghh.  I love cars.

Should I replace the housing and oil cooler as a single unit?

Any and all help will be great fully received.

Thanks

Chris
