Hi guys, is it reasonably easy to replace the bumper and wing on my i30?

The ding in the bumper, hot water and something to pull it out will be easy.

The guard will not be easy for the home DIY - its right on the crease in the panel. I would take it to a shop. You may end up looking worse if you attempt to pull that without any panel beating knowledge

Replacement of either should be very straightforward once you find all the bolts holding them on.

For the wing, I would try someone specialising in Paintless Dent Removal. It's amazing how they can knock out dents and creases, and I've found them to be not too expensive.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I've spoke to 2 PDR guys who say it's not cost effective to pull the dents out the wing as it's gonna be about 5 plus hours of labour.
I do have chips away coming to look at the bumper.


Hyundai have quoted me 330 plus the vat for a new bumper Inc spraying 170 bumper, 160 paint) and I've been quoted 173 for the wing but they won't quote on the spraying it as they apparently need to see it so they can colour match it (idk?? Seems bizarre they will spray the bumper but not the wing.
I'm happy to attempt replacing the bumper myself and swapping it all over as I think 400 quid is a decent price for a sprayed new bumper,
A garage 60 miles away have quoted 550 to fix the bumper and spray it, and put a new sprayed wing on also, but it's a brutal run as I would need to use public transport for the journeys to and from the garage.


I'm quite mechanically minded, and I guess I wouldn't mind having a go at even trying to get the dents out myself as I've nothing to lose really.

Have you looked to see if there are any local bodyshops as 50 miles is a bit far especially of no loan car.

Either google or call into a local indy garage as they are usually helpful, well they are where I live.

When I had my 1st i30 I had a slight dent.
The dealer outsourced the paint jobs.
They told me who they used and told me to go direct so I didn't have to pay for them to take and collect/dealers charge.

Yeah garages more local to me want 800-1k for a new wing(sprayed) and the bumper fixed, sprayed and the door blended.

I'm going to get a few tools and chip away at it myself to see if I can get the worst of the bumper out myself as the Labour costs seem to be the worst (a PDR dude said it wasn't cost effective for him to do the wing).
