hopefully I got it right, 1.6 petrol

should be  easy to replace once you locate where it is which maybe on the top or in the  of the flywheel housing. I have diesel so I know mine is at the rear on top but petrol not 100% sure.

Someone else can confirm but it'll be a single 10mm bolt holding it on then undo the harness.

I was being a bit cheeky. Engine seems very dirty!

Thanks for taking the time to take some photos and post them by the way!  :goodjob:

actually, I was asking if this is the crank shaft sensor.
yes, the engine bay is pretty dirty. we have a lot of dust here, and the rain get all the road grime to the engine bay.
on my Citroen, that I bought new, I used to clean the engine bay every time I washed the car. for about 4 years now I don't (wash the car  :crazy1:)
the I30, I bought a couple of months ago and I did not wash it yet.

If you're pointing to only to the same location in both photos and being an Auto box, NO.  That's the output shaft speed sensor.

you can see it has a connector and no fly lead. In that image  I put up the whole part has the sensor and a fly lead attached.

what motor is this again?

I have the diesel but I'd be looking on the engine side, from the very top where the engine butts up to the transmission bellhousing and make your way forward of the engine.

May even be at the front but it'll be to the right side very close to the joints I suspect. I'll see if I can google an image somehow as I've never seen the petrol engine.

I'm reading it's attached to the gearbox. This image is not great out of the manual but I'm thinking it's running off the flywheel or in this case the flex plate.

"This sensor is installed on transaxle housing "

You should be able to spot a thick cable like this with all that spirax and it's clipped most likely to a bracket at the front

Close. Not on the transmission, sensor reads off a tone wheel slightly forward of rear main bearing.

thanks. sure makes it hard when you've never seen one. I know where mine is, only had what the manual said to go by but other images suggested in the engine.

I hope when the OP finds he takes a snapshot and posts it for educational purposes :)

the second diagram seems like my engine, petrol 1.6 126 hp,
so I was looking at the rear of the engine when it is located in the front of the engine

Mate ,  I reckon the harness itself should be identifiable. Do us a favour and take some pics when you find it. Curiosity is killing me.

Wow! Not being rude, but that looks to be a very ducking fusty engine bay!

well I hope thus is better ( going off topic here  :head_butt:)

this was my primary car until the wife finely got a job.
now this is the wifes car.
after almost 10 years with Citroen C4 (2 generations), when trying to lift the hood, I keep thinking to myself " who screwed the hood to the body????"  :Jaw:
10 years with aluminum hood will make you go like that when trying to lift a normal hood....

certainly different but the only thing I spot is the colour of the "coolant" in the radiator tank. ? Looks very rusty in there or is that a red coolant type

Wow! it is a dusty place!

I quite like the quirkiness of French cars! Although in Australia they have a poor reputation for reliability in recent years and resale value can also be a worry. I had a Renault for 4 years (1978-82) and still have fond memories.  :goodjob:

Shambles, its not because of the car, its because of my work.
the car runs fine most of the time, from time to time it stalls.

this is the correct part for the 1.6 petrol 126 hp engine
I could see the connector but the sensor can only be reached from below the car.
I went to a place that had good recommendations, he put the car on the lift and 5 minutes later the car was out.
