Three weeks ago got and error message on screen advising LKAS, Driver Alert and AEB were not functioning.   Repaired by Hyundai, reported as short causing module failure, replaced camera and module.   Yesterday, one week later exactly same error again whilst driving, LKAS was turned off at time.   Will have to get it repaired again.   Any reports of this kind of module failure being a problem in this Hyundai model

Welcome.

Mostly reports of BSD (blind spot detection) issues. Which I think is a different module. I had this in my 2017 SR but since sorted.

See here..

:link: If you have issues with the Blind Spot Detection System in PD model. RTFM.

Further to this problem.   After a couple of days the error messages disappeared after startup and all is normal now and the problem has not come back as yet.

Got the AEB & LKAS failure message yesterday, cleaned windscreen & front badge just in case (they weren't dirty), still same error message today.
Will get it booked into the local service centre and report back.

Visited the local Hyundai service centre today to have them checkout the AEB/LKAS error.

They had to remove the front bumper to get to the camera module, diagnosed as faulty multi-function camera, replacement required but due to cost ($4,138) they have to get approval from Hyundai.

Awaiting approval and hopefully get it replaced sometime next week.

Beware of those front-end bingles, they're gonna be expensive!

I can see why the bumper would need removing to access the forward facing radar unit - would be the same on my Ioniq.

That's a lot of $$$$ to replace it :scared:

Hyundai approved the repair last week and today had the new multi-function camera installed - all appears to be OK now with no more AEB/LKAS errors.

Unfortunately got the AEB/LKAS error again this morning (3 days after having the multi-function camera replaced).
The error cleared on it's own while driving (about 10 mins after first appearing).
The only difference this time with the error was the LKAS symbol was flashing orange (it was solid before with the original error).
Did a check with "Autolink" and it found no problems - will monitor this but doesn't inspire confidence.

Bloody electronics! My blind spot detection system goes through stages of shutting itself down on long quiet country drives, but it is mentioned in the manual and hasn't caused me any hardship so far.

Interestingly I had a nightmare drive recently in teeming rain through a big city with excess water everywhere and everything worked brilliantly including the radar cruise and LKA. Was quite remarkable how much they both helped.  :victory:

What's the mention of it being in the manual? Also when I scan the vehicle with Hyundai computer no error codes come up. I'm trying to organise a data logger for next trip.

Mine does the same, only when crusing at highway speeds for long drives 2h+. Then after I stop it comes back after 20min exactly, then 20mins every time after i stop that day.

That Kia Optima I had was fitted with that good kit. Turned the lane monitor off because it gave me the shits. Only time I turned it on was one night when it belted down rain and the edge line wasn't visable.

Didn't really change anything for me, but it worked well.

As for the low impact front crash, isn't it what the camera is there to prevent?

I don't usually activate the LKA but decided to on this occasion and I'm sure it helped.

Not sure if it is the radar or camera or a combo of both that avoids low speed crashes. Whatever the system uses for the cruise works really well. I have it set to 3 car lengths gap and I seldom have to intervene. I always make sure I can override it if it looks like the situation could get out of hand. Even when the car it is tagging swaps lanes just before a red light it picks up the car in front of that one seamlessly.

I tried the cruise on the Kia and got the worst economy figures I had achieved in either the Sonata or the Optima.

So me being me, I turned it off and never used it again

I just did an over 4000 kilometre road trip in the SR using the cruise as much as possible.  Pretty happy with the economy! Not bad for a sporty little non diesel.
