Title: I30 2009 electrical problems
Post by: Tom.PalmerI30 on January 23, 2021, 18:44:03
Hi all, I am having an bit of an issue with my I30 2009 manual 1.4L 109hp
I removed my mirror light as the button was broken, when replacing it I touched two pieces of metal together with the engine on.
Ever since my central locking has stopped working, my interior lights stopped working, my key hole light doesn't work and when the ignition is turnt off it resets mpg also when you turn the car off all dials do not set to zero you have to re insert key and turn to the click just before start and remove key and it goes to zero.
finally you cant get into the boot to do so you have to start the car then with the front driver door open push the central lock button and then the boot opens with the car started.

All of these are not a huge problem but for the life of me I cant find the problem, I have checked every fuse and they are all fine
I hope someone can shed some light on what to do to solve this problem

Thanks for taking the time to read this hopefully someone can help

All points to a BCM issue (Body control module).

First thing to do is Tripple check the fuses marked as BCM

and diagram in this thread might help

You probably burned the BCM fuse. If I remember correctly it is 15A. You should find it in the fuse box which is on the side of the dash.
