I agree.
And he is a conservative, which unfortunately these days makes one a target of ridicule and subject to name calling, it seems.
I think he is a genuine person who speaks more for the party faithful than does Turnbull (who originally sought pre-selection by the ALP when he entered politics) and Julie Bishop, who is very talented but has shown herself to be of dubious character with low ethical standards. IMO.
Abbott has a massive public support base, but people seem to either love him or hate him and there's plenty in both camps.
