Hey guys I bought a used Hyundai i30 Hatchback 2011. And I found a part in the back bonnet that looks like the one in the image. Now I was only able to find one. What is this part and where does it go? The manual doesn't mention anything about it. Just an image.
The part is highlighted in red
The image is below: if it doesn't show please click on the link.
Many thanks in advance :goodjob2: :goodjob:

Under the front seat. Its the end of an air duct.

back Bonnet ? do you drive in reverse a lot or do you mean the rear 'hatch' ?  ;)

NZ,
Our X has that attached to the seats,  so is there another piece to go to the air outlet?

I'll check this avo, Havent pulled the whole lot out, but there is a plastic duct on both sides of the transmission tunnel, under the carpet, from below the crash panel to the back of each front seat....in general terms  ;)

Correct, I'm still looking for the back bonnet though. :scared:

Yeah, I was alerted to the existence of rear air ducting only a couple of weeks ago.
Yes, they were there alright, not my rear bonnet. :snigger:

Sorry I should have made it more clear. It was just thrown in the back bonnet, it wasn't placed or anything. So does it have a certain name so I can look on youtube on how to install it
Thanks

No need to apologise, mate. In fact, I should.

I haven't looked closely enough to know how they are fastened but I would suggest you close all your front vents, turn your fan up to high speed and feel for the air flow along the floor under the front seats. Check the narrow ends of your pieces for any clue on how they attach. If there's no screw hole, I'd guess they're just a press fit.

http://australiancar.reviews/_pdfs/Hyundai_i30-i30cw_FD_Specifications_201111.pdf calls it 'heat ducting to rear seat floor'.

They just slot in with s bit of a wiggle. It should all be fairly clear once you see the duct under seat.

Guys I have found the problem, it was a part missing under the seat. So just in-case somebody stumbles across this post in the future and needs the answer. To install the part just simply look under the chair and you will see a place were the part will fit in perfectly. At first it had a wiggle but I took it out put it back in and it was solid. (I would have loved to have taken pictures but there was no good lighting and overall it is honestly simple process).
I would like to thank everybody who contributed to this otherwise I wouldn't have knew that this part is under the chair.
