I've used claybars with soapy water. It may take the wax off also, so I've waxed the areas after using the claybar. May not be the easiest way, but for my car the result is much better than with cleaning liquids.

Just let the car soak for 10 minutes with a strong dose (extra suds) of Meguiars car wash then a blast with a Karcher will take em straight off, if you don't have a Karcher then a bug mit works a treat, I've got one the same as this Turtle Wax- Power Bug & Tar Sponge - Supercheap Auto and it get the bugs and tar spots off easily with some extra suds

A bit of metho or kero works for me. Rub only lightly and let it soak in. The trick is to make sure your car is recently polished before any trip where large numbers of bugs might be an issue. Ordinary car polish works on both as well. Again, don't get heavy handed. Give it time to soak into the offending gunk.

Why? They are perfectly safe and even make the wash easier with the attached shampoo bottle, I've used the karcher on mine for 4 years now and and it does a great job obviously you need the car type and not the higher pressured models

Only stays there long enough do do the job. Then shampooed off. Been doing it for 50 years.

You must have not looked very well in Bunnings and Supercheap Trev, they've been selling car Karcher's and Gerni's for years with all sorts of vehicle attachments, though I only use their shampoo applicator then plug in the blast nozzle to wash off and any stubborn bits I'll use the bug mit👍

I have a Karcher bought att Bunnings. Normal household/ yard strength. Never noticed any others. And Supercheap I only go in, get what I want and go out.

You'll have to check em out next time you're in there, the car ones are 1560 to 1740psi ( it'll sting but won't break skin ), my exact model is the Gurni classic 120.5👍

I've got a simple Karcher but couldn't tell you the pressure. Only ever used it to knock the bulk off then switch to garden hose.

I've booked it in for the 1500km service and gave a big Hell No to a car wash by our own guys lol.

Recon I'll just get the Maguires and let it soak 5-10min.



Next question is what about cleaning the touchscreen??

Just wipe them with a microfibre cloth Tim, that would be a good idea for something Hyundai should supply

Fully understandable for a 4WD. And switching to a hose for the close ups makes sense.

I would not use a pressure washer on my car - especially on the bumpers which have flush mounted parking sensors. The flush ones are mounted in a housing which attaches to the inside of the bumper using double sided adhesive tape. A blast with a pressure washer can knock them through.

The sensors with an ugly external collar that mount from the front are probably OK though.

I've used HP washers on all my cars from HSV through to Hyundai and never had an issue, I'll even get the thumper nozzle about an inch away from the paint work to remove some stubborn crap and it's always been fine, never bothered my sensors either.

Bowden's products are good, I wouldn't say they shit all over Meguiars, pretty much on par and the same stuff if you look at the ingredients though Bowden's are a lot more pricey.
