Hi All.

probably a silly question, so apologies in advance.
a while ago I noticed my stock wipers squeaking, so I replaced the rubber strip for some el cheapo I bought from supercheap auto in Oz.
Didn't seem to do much to be honest, though now it's more of a chattering noise.

I wiped the windscreen very well with glass cleaner, as well as the wipers to no avail.

am I missing something?
what products do you guys recommend?
when it does rain, it very annoying!

tks

I think you've already answered your own question ( so I replaced the rubber strip for some el cheapo I bought from supercheap auto in Oz )

Personally I use the Tridon Flexiblade wipers which were on half price special at Supercheap, both left and right side $29 for the pair.

Hmm, I'm getting the feeling the brand was Tridon!

Will try to find some markings..

Are you using any additives in the washer reservoir? They do a good job of repelling the water , and usually they make the blades slide smoother also. I use rainx

For years now I have used silicon wiper replacements.
No issues with chatter since.
Available from Supercheap.

Wiper blades need to be replaced as i fear the rubber of those on have probably hardened to a point they will not sweep properly.
  • 1.4 Petrol Active I'm no expert, so please correct me if

Mate I think we have discussed this before, ...
I got 3 sets of silicone blades from the Superchaps but they juddered and screeched so badly I dumped them.
I assume their quality control guy was having his usual RDO when the stock came in from Bangladesh.  :disapp:

Yep. We did. I thought you said you'd try them again.

I will, promise :)
I needed some urgently the other day but bought rubber, just to save time on a return trip.
Yeh no but I will, man of my words, mostly.

The heads wear and get sloppy too. strongly recommend Trico complete heads. Trico were OEM suppliers for pretty much all locally produced vehicles built here. for years. I did this on my wagon and they're like new car. I had a Magna for 12 years. always ued trico inserts for years. worked until the car got to about 9 years then did not matter what I used became quite nisey and jittery. Replaced the heads complete and like a new car. worth a shot .

Great point, Gerard. It's not always just the rubber / silicone that loses cohesion. :victory:
