FD ignition woes, wiggle and it works

Issue as described below, this is the exact specific issue i have.  just wondering on a possible fix.. its real annoying

ibrokeit talks about
'The reason being there is a known problem, on some FD i30 (don't recall details), where the spring for the 'key in ignition' sensor is a little weak.  Eventually build up of grim and/or change in grease consistency causes it to stick, resulting in the car sensing the key is inserted in the ignition when in fact it isn't.'

  • the older I get, the faster I was
try WD40. it will dissolve old grease and grime.
then you can put in grease spray or thin oil. 
  • I30 CW 2010 1.6 petrol auto

While the wd40 trick did not work consistently in the beginning, it did I fact remove the problem entirely/eventually
