Hello!

I have recently bought an Hyundai I30 and it's my first car. I have very little knowledge about cars and especially fixing them!

With that said; I would like to change all that and there is probably no better way than getting problems on your own car... :D

I have read about this problem in this forum and from what I hear its not a huge job (It will be for me ofc).
In recent post there has also been photos showing all the necessary steps with comments to it. Unfortunately for me those photos are not longer available.

So my question to you guys are:

1. Will a complete rookie solve this? Or is it better to leave it for repair?
2. How do i solve it (Please with pictures if possible and very pedagogic explanations) :) I will ofc ask a lot on the way.

Best regards
Jonas

Is that the right code? With a quick search I did not find any manufacturers quide to solve that code.

Nevertheless here is guide how to remove exhaust manifold. In that guide there is told how to remove the egr also.

Lycka till.

sorry the correct name of the errorcode is P0404 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Range/Performance

It seems though, its the EGR thats causing it?

Based on the description told in the previous link, would try cleaning the egr valve. If the cooler is super dirty, it might be good to clean the intake manifold also. I believe there are some valves inside the manifold which may get stuck due carbon build up. But first I would check and clean the egr. That might do the trick.

What is the cars mileage?
