The urban economy for the i30 is rated at 8.9 (manual) and 9.7 (auto).    8.3 sounds pretty good to me.

Yes, and most drivers can't achieve these ratings, so that's very good actually.

What figure were you expecting to achieve, Sam

I feel better now :)

I might stick with 91 petrol for another week, then try 95 for 3 weeks and I will report back.

Will drive the same...
It is an automatic by the way....

The next challenge will be on 91 petrol but use the manual feature...

I thought I read somewhere 6.9L/100 but that might be non-urban...
But if everyone is saying 8.3 is good then I am happy with that..

Maybe I should lose that 5 kg and save even more :):)

Don't have many choices in my town, Woolworths, Coles, Matilda and United.
So wifey's i-30 has had E10 since new.
If memory serves me correctly, the owner's manual and even the fuel cap flap have the 10% max ethanol message so Hyundai, like most manufacturers, is not concerned with fuel component deterioration.
I have tried BP 95 when on trips North and it made zero difference to performance or economy.
As for E85, way too many items to change plus you'd need a multi-fuel ecu for the times when travelling, as E85 is simply not available everywhere.
If you're a big power turbo petrol city dweller and have gone as far as you can with 98, obviously E85 is the next step.

Holy crap, I imagine you could drive a V8 without using more fuel...  :scared:

My 6 is averaging low 8's on a long cruise and under 10 around town now ( if I'm careful)

73 Litres is the rated capacity (Most I have squeezed in is 67 litres)

I can get over 800  out of a 67 litres with mostly highway only driving. More like 650 with mostly town driving  :goodjob: Pretty happy overall..  :happydance:

I am getting 11 l/100km in my V8.  I'm pretty happy with that.

My car is also "Flex Fuel" compatible.  It can use E85 with no modifications (which I can't get down here).  I do however, run 98 RON in it, for performance and better mileage.

:offtopic: warning.. How much dearer is 98 at the moment? 10c P/L? Not sure whether it would be worth it with the "6"

I can use E85 too, but as you say not available down here and I believe the reduced mileage pretty much offsets the cheaper price...

15c/l I believe. I don't mind, as said in other topics, I end up paying 85c/l anyway.

I had to pay the full amount for the i30, hence one of the reasons I changed vehicles.
