Hi all!

I know this topic has been mentioned / talked about a number of times but I couldn’t find the information I was after.

As the title states I have a 2015 (September make) i30 SR Premium.

The head unit is touch screen and has GPS. Speakers are component in the front (tweeters) and coaxial in he back.

I’m looking to upgrade just the speakers but wanted to know a few things first before I start pulling things apart or purchasing items.

Can anyone confirm the the size of the stock speakers? I’ve been advised that they are 6-3/4”.

Does anyone know the power output (each Chanel) of the factory head unit?

Does any one have pictures of the GD3 speakers they could send me

I would think they're probably still the same type as used in my 2013 6.5" I think they were (pictured below) as that was the size of the high efficiency Morels I replaced them with Subwoofer for PD i30 Audio and location of Tweeters


The head unit should be 50w (17w RMS) per channel.

What speakers did you end up going with (link) and would you go with them again if you had your time over or is there something else you would go with?

My concern is the tiny out put of the standard head unit and what aftermarket speakers will perform well with that output.

I was looking at

Front: Euphoria Series : ES9 6C

Rear: Euphoria Series : ES9 6

The High efficiency Morels are designed to be used without an amp if the head unit puts out enough, I didn't add an amp and they absolutely pump in my car

All depends on how much you want out of your system, I'd suggest listening to some setups at an audio shop and see what you like.
