Just checked the dipstick on my PD 2.0 and the oil is just above the low mark, how much oil should I buy ?

Dazz is busy eating and tells me to ask if you are on level ground when checking the oil? Shouldn’t be using any oil in a new vehicle  usually around 1/2 litre is the amount required from low to full on the oil dip stick, though check while topping up to be sure...or take to Hyundai and see why it’s using oil or not topped up correctly at service.

Car has done 10,000km.

anywho, topped it up and it took approx .5 litre.

All good now then but doesn't explain why the level was a 1/2 ltr low, I would have queried this with Hyundai as I cant see that a new engine would be using oil so their service mob need a kick in the backside, to late now though if you've filled it but after your next service I would be checking the level before leaving the service centres premises.

Yeah surprised me but it does get driven hard at times (rev limiter is too low !!) but I'll be keeping an eye on the dipstick more often now (first time ive checked it).

interestingly my average fuel consumption has been 5.6lt/100km on my weekly runs between Brisbane and Nambucca Heads, I drove down yesterday and the tell tale is saying my average is 5.4lt/100km !!

Am a traffic light warrior and the manual box makes for easy limiter bashing !!....

Speed limits rarely broken and anywhere above 40km/h cruise control is used as Iam not a fan of infringement notices,saying that ive tried to limiter bash in 6th but ran out of "private" road    has similar power and gear ratios as my Mazda 3 and it was good for 235km/h !!

Don't think so. Although if that worries you then don't plug it in to the OBD port (or whatever it is called)

Mine only works randomly with my Samsung S8 anyway despite being sync'd

Yeah the dongle doofa is plugged in but same as you, the app was useless on my S8 so did not even bother installing it on my S9

Just thought I'd add, every i30 engine from gd onwards, bar the disel engine takes exactly 4L. This includes the 1.8L GD, 2.0L GD, 2.0L PD, 1.6T PD. Just make sure you put 5W30 A5 in the 1.6T, otherwise 10W-30 is recommended for the other engines.

Just thought I'd add, every i30 engine from gd onwards, bar the disel engine takes exactly 4L. This includes the 1.8L GD, 2.0L GD, 2.0L PD, 1.6T PD. Just make sure you put 5W30 A5 in the 1.6T, otherwise 10W-30 is recommended for the other engines.

The 1.6 petrol in the GD only takes 3.6ltrs, and A5 is also recommended

According to another thread it is 4.5lt for the Pd and is 5w30.
