I have done this loads of times on other cars, using the good old G-clamp to push back the pistons. However the i30 has special screw in pistons that need a special tool.
Can you reset the pistons without this tool? If not where can I get one and how much will it cost? Or could I hire one?
Thanks Mike

Ffoxy is your man - he's got such a tool :)

Read the whole thread - there's a link in there for the gadget.

That'll be damned..  :undecided:

I was sure the rear pistons could just be pushed back as the front, since the i30 have the handbrake drum inside the disc.

Nice to find out though..before I ruined the rear calibres

Just found a useful video on youtube. It is American and the guy is working on a Honda but he doesn't gloss over anything. Check out the problems he has trying to fit the caliper rewind tool.
