Hey guys, I am from USA and am planning on building a i30 rally car. Over here its called the Elantra GT. I want to see what gravel suspension is available for this car.
Thank you,
John

There maybe some here who will have advice on suspension. There is also a member, see CraigB and his thread :link: ECU reprogramming (https://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=36326.0) in :link: ENGINE BAY (https://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?board=59.0) who probably can give advice on what performance mods can be done with stock ECU, and what would require after-market ECU.
Regarding the suspension - I realise the i20 is a different platform but Hyundai has i20s in the WRC - could that be a useful starting point for research?
I am discounting the Hyundai 'N' sub-brand that will apparently start with i30 (Elantra GT) based on WRC knowledge (the N brand is based in the same town/city as Hyundai WRC HQ) - as a) it isn't, seemingly, released yet (so likely details like suspension aren't available); and b) 'gravel suspension' and suspension you put on a 'hot' hatch for production purposes are probably not going to be the same.

This may sound like a silly question - I took a quick look at the Hyundaiusa.com site... is there only one engine variant of the Elantra GT (i30)? I.e. 2.0L Petrol/Gas engine.
Asking as many markets have diesel and petrol and can have different engines sizes in them too.

:welcome: John,
We had a member Razy enter a couple of Tarmac rallies in a previous generation i30 about 5 years ago and another member HMCA https://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1657 (https://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1657) a bit more recently. But neither is active now.
I can't recall anyone mentioning gravel specific suspension before!
I think your best bet is to get some advice and no obligation quotes from local suspension specialists. :undecided:

Dazz is on the money.
Also talk to other local competitors.
Or your existing suppliers if you already have rallying experience.

Its an FD but worth a look.

I was going to say that Trevor (Surferdude) has the extensive rally experience and would be able to help you. :goodjob:
