Got new tyres all round today. Also a wheel alignment and the bob Jane printout was comprehensive.

I had told the guy my front and rear tyres on the passenger side wear too much on the inside. This could have been the result of me running off the road one night a few years back and the wheels got pounded heavily on an undulating  country nature strip.

The alignment showed negative camber in excess of a few degrees on both wheels. This was not adjustable. He suggested I seek out some aftermarket adjustable bushes so they can align it correctly and save tyre wear.

Has anyone had these items and where did you get them? I know years ago I ran an Escort Twin cam (Lotus) and had cammed bolts that were offset so you could make the camber adjustable.

Cheers.  Tony

The FD isn't adjustable on the rear. However, the camber spec's are up to -1ยบ50" IIRC.

How much is "a few degrees"?
If we're talking a max of say, 2, I'd live with it.
Any more than that and you need to talk to a suspension specialist.  Pedders maybe, although some people don't like them. But at least they could explain your options.  Something sounds bent, but given it's both front and rear I'm not sure.

What distance did you get out of the last set?

Doesn't the front end in the diesel start to sag when the mileage gets up, exacerbating the problem :undecided:

I've never been convinced of that. I've always felt it's a crock used by mechanics who don't have an answer.
But in any case, Tony only has the problem on one side (front and rear)

Below is the report. The car pulls to the left when steering has been let go.

You can see here the left side front has -1 degree 20' whereas the right side has just 30'

The castor has +5 degrees

The rear is less of a problem at 2 degrees on the left and 1 degree on the right

I still get 40,000km- 50,000km from a set of tyres rotated at 20,000. He suggested rotating them more often.
