Hi all,
its been a few years since I was active here... just too much on my plate and if curse the CW has been running like a dream, comfy, economical and all one really needs.
Alas, it is rego time and so I have to splash out for some new "treads", Just had 75 K click over.

I was tossing up between Goodyear Eagle F1 A5, or the Bridgestone Turanza or Triple Max.

I read a lot of reviews and regrettably, some of the types that rate so well, ( on UK bases reviews ) are not available here as yet.
So... there are heaps of i30s circulating in the forum, so has anyone had any really good recommendations or negatives for that matter?

Cheers

Couple of questions elleb.
What size have you currently got? And what brand? Have you been happy with them?
Also, in your query you linked the Triplemax with Bridgestone.
Goodyear has a Triplemax. Does Bridgestone also have one called that?

I'll do some research for you.

Hi my friend, Yes its been a while, too long in fact, but life just got in the way!

205/55/16  Khumo.. yes we are not hard on tyres .. and of course, one has to have the regular alignments etc, and rotations.

We upgraded a couple of years back from the 2009 i30 to a Nov 2016 Elite (European build, maybe the last new CW available in NSW at least)

I was going to look at the log book and see if and when we actually did last change them as we are at 75K clicks now., but it was bucketing down, so I will come back to you on that.

Your right, the Triple Max is Goodyear.

Just looking to see who has any 4-for-3 deals going..  It seems that Bridgestone does make it attractive with various behind-the-scenes offers.. I will call them in the next few days and get to the nitty gritty and I have a month before Rego is due.

Thanks for the follow-up and your expertise, as always, cheers
 Tony

I have 205/55R16 Goodyear Efficient Grip on my car.
And Triple Max on my wife's car.
Both have been excellent.

I have to admit to losing touch with the latest Bridgestone offerings but there'll be others on here who have experience with them.

For premium options you're missing out on Michelin. Yes you'll pay more, yes it's worth it. Ex tyre tech and my brother owns a bridgestone store - I can get bridgestone the cheapest but still prefer Michelin.

My suggestion would be following order;

Michelin Primacy 4 > Bridgestone Turanza Er300 > Goodyear offering

125 000km on a set of Turanzas on my FD CW, lots of long distance commuting. Very happy with them.

Thanks for the comments... wow 125K is something!!!

Which Turanza did you use T001, T005  or the ER?

I Saw that there is a T006 which is even better but will not be available here until sometime in 2023.  I can't wait that long... I need to be re-shod for rego.
I will check out the deals in the next week and some of the 4/3 offers close Oct 31st.

Talk soon

Thanks Josh,
I was well aware of the Michies... and how well they rated in the tests and reviews.. I  do still have them on my shortlist while I see what deals I can source...

Thanks for the contribution.....

Believe it was Turanza Serenity.

Very happy with the road holding and wet weather performance. I was doing mainly freeway kms, and my original brake pads are at 25% after 295 000km.

The tyre place wondered if I had gone elsewhere in the middle, when they changed them over. I hadn't.

I changed them with some tread left as they had 4 for 3 offer with lifetime wheel alignment whilst the tyres were good.
