Title: Car door opens sometimes from the inside
Post by: billy638 on April 17, 2018, 18:41:55
Hey guys, today I tried to open my driver door from the inside to get out but it wasn't working. The door wouldn't open. So after a couple of tries I gave up and got out from the other door.  Now after I came back from work I opened with my key and from the outside it opens fine like usual. When I got home I opened the door from the inside again and it worked. So this seems like some part needs replacing. Has this happened to anyone or what needs replacing. Thanks!

Hi Billy,

Was it quite cold? Things can stick in very cold conditions which are obviously more common in your part of the world than ours.

Could be fixable with some lubrication maybe but not sure how much door trim you would need to remove to  get to the offending part.

Obviously not a cable issue if it's intermittent. The actuator that works the lock is a solenoid and these can work intermittently when on the way out and possibly be affected by temperature too.
