Hi All

I am seriously thinking of getting a 2018 I30 SR Premium.  Since the last time i bought a car was back in 2002, I am extremely rusty at dealing/haggling prices.  Hence the question:  For all who recently purchased an I30 SR Premium, what price should i be looking at as reasonable deal.

Thank you so much for your feedback.

Kind Regards.

 :welcome:

I usually suggest going to a site like Carsales and searching for the lowest new price listed in Australia. However, I was amazed to discover the lowest price for brand new white listed at around $38,500 and $39,000 for metallic painted ones.  :crazy1:

I was expecting around mid 30's at the most. My Non Premium SR was only 31K drive away with quite a few extras in June 2017.

Be interested to see what recent premium buyers have paid.

Before I bought my 2018 SR DCT PD (also non-premium), I closely followed the threads on Whirlpool (http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum/133?g=272) to get a good idea on prices, which was extremely helpful when it came to negotiating as I knew what was possible (I ended up at $29k including tint, mats and red paint).

Edit: lol just followed my link and saw you've posted there already! I seem to remember some people getting $32-33k or so when it was the SRP PD (not PD2). Don't know if $33k is still possible though with the RRP increase, but I would be laughing at $38k offers...

Thank you Cazlar.  Just went to Parramatta Hyundai and they was quoting me @ 34k for a PD2.  I have yet to haggle pricing with them yet.  Also notice that the boot do not have 2 level flooring to accommodate a full size tyrre.  Is this something new with PD2?

I haven't seen myself but believe someone noted that the new subwoofer in the SRP PD2 takes up some extra space at the bottom, so you lose the double-level

Awesome. I'm a bit jealous. In hindsight white might have been a better choice than red. I kind of kick myself I didn't go the Premium and the better Audio would be great too. Enjoy.  :victory:

They will be the longest 4 days of your life. I've had over 30 cars in 40 years but I never enjoy the wait when I swap.  :crazy1:

After 1 day owning the car, I am happy with my decision to buy it.  Responsiveness and how it hug the corner during a turn is just awesome.  I am loving it.

Love the moon roof too.  so nice and bright.

Congrats! Enjoy it! :goodjob2:

I kind of slightly regret not going for the SR Premium myself. At purchase time I focused on the plain SR DCT because I thought it was much better value overall, but now I'm a touch jealous of the moon-roof, heated seats, LED lights etc (and now better sound in PD2)...

@cazlar:  I came up with a strategic plan for you.
1. Indulge wife with lots of cocktails, get her totally drunk.
2. Let her have her beauty sleep
3. Run out to the dealer and do a quick trade in
4. Zip back home in the new car, park in driveway and pretend everything is normal

:)

Excellent! Plus there is more good news. This little turbo engine is known to improve in performance quite a bit after a few thousand kilometres (say 7 to 10K)  :goodjob2: :goodjob:
