Title: Windscreen washer issue
Post by: naser_1998x on April 20, 2017, 09:24:58
Hi guys, I started up my 2011 Hyundai i30 Hatchback today and it ran well. It is average weather here in the UK and there is no snow.
I have a windscreen washer that protects me down to -10C. When I tried to run my front wind screen washers no water is coming out but I can hear the motor running. However, I tried using my rear washer and it worked with no issues.
What do you think the problem is here guys?
Any help would be great thanks.

Is there evidence of water on the floor when you operate the washers? perhaps a pipe has spilt or become disconnected.

For a simple fix is it possible the tube or jet is blocked due to the mixture you are using or no water in bottle!

I had same and was a blocked tube/ jet.

If water ok then open bonnet, follow the tube from the bottle which you will find along the right wing and you will see a small joining unit.

Remove the tube and blow air though both and see if that clears.

If it is clear and still not working then possible motor as i think there are seperate for front and back.

This issue has been reported on here so try the search function and you will get several threads.

Yeah guys thank you very much for the replies. I blew some air into it and it worked very well. I think I might change the motor or clean it if it is clogged.

Well, the pump services both front & rear (single motor assembly) so symptoms like you described are usually a blocked, crimped or fractured feeder pipe.

Great you got it cleared :victory:

Did you blow air back towards the motor?

Yeah dude I blew air towards the motor and the water got stronger. Also, I took the motor out and cleaned it out of all the grease. The previous owner didn't take care of this car  :spitty:
Also, I found out that when I close the bonnet the line that takes the water to the two water screen washers gets bent (this line can be found on the left hand side of the driver side), and therefore also making the water that gets pumped weaker. So just make sure that the line is straight and fixed. :goodjob2: Any questions guys I am ready to help  :)
