Any ideas if i would be able to find a replacement for the rubber guards near the glass as shown in the photos?

As you can see in the photos the rubber has started to crack and wear down to the metal underneath

My car unfortunately has to live on the road and the sun down here in oz is unforgiving

Dealers want about $80 each. Checked last week for my Wagon.

They're dead easy to remove, on inside of the door there are 2 self tappers, one at each end, once removed it unclips.

This is the bitter pill. In korea these are about $8 USD BUT the size or length make freight a killer.

So a set of 4 for my wagon will cost me $136 USD ($190 AUD), still a saving of $130

If you're serious about replacing them and want new if we put an order in together $217 or $109 USD each or $152 AUD which is respectable.

If you're not in SE QLD though adding postage again probably won't achieve anything.

I think any vehicle exposed to lots of UV and heat these are going to blister and perish.

 Could not get the wrecker in Sydney to remove these to sell. Said it was not economical.

May have to look a bit too. I got a wagon 2010 here 41k and they're cracking . My other 2010 wagon is so bad you can see the metal underneath and the 2008 hatch is on par with this 2010 low K job.

My old magna wagon the rubber trim on the fixed side glass had gone that way after 2 years. Mits refused to replace them.

I think unless you have the car garaged most of the time, they're not going to last long, maybe a few years at a guess. Depend on the climate too.

Some will corporate others don't.  The rubber will still be on the bare door that the have to sell or better still on a damaged door. You need to front up to the wrecking yard (s).
Some yards have become call centres which is a convenient time saver.
Many wont let you into their holding yards.
I used to do a lot of business with Total Parts in Moorooka, however, for small stuff they now want a minimum of $45 for any part they retrieve from their own yard. Consequently, I don't bother them with orders big or small.

Would these "new" rubber paints work on these parts? I mean those spray cans which give you some sort of rubber/plastic surface. Some use them to paint rims or even the whole car. After they fed up with the colour the paint can be peeled of easily.Never used them but just thought you might get fairly similar surface to those parts with just a few bucks.

I was just thinking along the same lines!
