A while back I noticed that the clock in my radio was 1 minute out.  I thought it was a bit odd as it had always been bang-on but corrected it and went on with my life.  A few days later, it was 1 minute out again, and has stayed exactly one minute out ever since.

Any ideas why it would suddenly be a minute slow and wants to persist that way??

Years ago I think I noticed mine would lose a minute per month, and I mused that it might be ticks lost during cranking, but I couldn't explain why yours would behave as oddly as you describe, unless if the transition through ignition is something you are doing less often now - assuming my musing is even feasible!

If you're tuned into an RDS (FM) station it could be that it's their time that's wrong, changing your clocktime accordingly...?

Try setting your clock to -1 hour and see if it gets corrected.

I think that the oddities of the airwaves will account for such discrepancies, for example, my cousin and I often watch the same football matches on our respective TV set and occasionally have a flutter which usually involves donating a small amount of money to a bookmaker <sigh>.

I almost always see a goal scored 15 or 20 seconds before he does (we chat on Skype which is how I know) and this is because he watches in HD and I watch in SD ergo is receiver equipment takes long to get it all on the screen.

I know this won't be the same scenario but it is by example how the same item can take different lengths of time to occur.

As Albert would say, it's all relative  :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy1: :crazy1: :crazy1:

Is the clock set to auto update?

I assume it does but I don't see any settings for it.

There is a setting.
Can't remember what it is actually called but auto changes between UK GMT and GMT+1

Plus see steve's suggestion.

there's an auto time zone that will update the clock.
I set it to on, and my clock was running behind for 2 hours and 2 minutes.
set it back to off, problem solved.

Well there you go. My clock doesn't sync with anything, so we're talking different level tech there.

It doesn't auto change between GMT and BST either.  I'll have another look.

After much vexatious consideration I have concluded that there is nothing wrong with the clock at all.  The fault lies with you, or the car, being in the wrong place, using the standard sexagesimal divisions you must be one degree out. Either right or left.

Just move one degree of the 24 divisors and you'll be spot on  :crazy1: :crazy1: :crazy1: :crazy1: :crazy1: :crazy1:

I forgot to come back and say that this worked.

I had a different issue this morning though but I'll post a new thread about that.
