Hi Everyone,

I own a 2013 I30 Elite CRDI, and  have a similar predicament to yorland but I am actually trying to fit a small LED light bar to try and remedy the problem.

However I am having trouble trying to find the right wire to splice into to control the light bar relay, so that it works with the cars ordinary high beams.

I understand that the lights are operated by controlling the earth in this model, but still cant seem to find the right wire. Removed the 10 pin connector from the LH light unit and did some wiring checks. Found that with the 7 wires which go to this connector, 4 of them have power to them, and the other 3 go to earth. ALL THE TIME. Which with my electrical background has me scratching my head a bit.

Does anyone have any advice, or know where I might be able to find a wiring diagram to figure out what the hell is going on?

Any help would be much appreciated, as it is the wifes car which she drives to and from work at night on a roo infested road.

Hi,
Sorry,  did you say :
4 with power constantly and 3 are permanent earth
Or
4 can have power,  3 are earthed ?

" controlling earth path " for operation . ? ?
Does it show as that on wiring diagram?

I believe the fog lights are there to highlight the fog line (solid line on the edge of the road and the centre line so that you can navigate in heavy fog).

Be careful fitting wizz bang globes to diesels, to get a brighter light they use a narrower (for want of a better word) filament. This can highlight a tendancy to blow globes.

Thanks Phil, the wiring diagram is much appreciated. It is what I have been looking for, for a while.

Now off to find pin 13 on connector M02-B, wherever that is at.

By the time I read this, looks like someone has so;ved your problems,I vaguely remember you saying the light bar didn't need to be switched, problem with not having your lights switched, your not supposed to use light bars in built up areas, without switching your not able to turm them off from your main beam in the built up areas(just a thought)Yes Im know all the light laws have changed in many states, but I'm old school and have all ther lights on our cars switched
